The Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) visa is a UK visa that allows young people from certain countries to live, work, and travel in the UK for up to 2 years. It is designed for young adults who want to experience life in the UK without needing employer sponsorship.

Eligibility
To apply for a YMS visa, you must:
- Be aged 18-30 (or 18-35 for some countries)
- No Experience or IELTS Required
- Be a citizen of an eligible country
- Have at least £2,530 in savings
- Not have children under the age of 18 living with you or financially dependent on you

APPLICATION PROCESS
Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the age, nationality, qualification and financial requirements.

Pay fees: Visa application fee (£298), Immigration Health Surcharge (£2,070 total for 2 years)
Provide biometrics: Book an appointment at a Visa Application Centre (VAC) for fingerprints and a photo.
Receive a decision: You should receive a decision with in 3 weeks. If approved, you’ll receive a visa vignette in your passport.
RESTRICTIONS
- Cannot apply if you’ve previously held a YMS visa.
- Cannot extend beyond 2 years.
- Cannot bring dependents (children or partners).
- Cannot work as a professional sportsperson or doctor in training.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
- Valid Passport
- Must be valid for the entire duration of stay.
- Proof of Educational Qualification
- A bachelor’s degree or higher (equivalent to UK’s RQF Level 6 or above).
- Bank Statement (Proof of Funds)
- A minimum balance of £2,530, maintained for at least 28 days before applying.
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test Certificate
- Required if you have lived in India for more than 6 months.
- Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)
- Issued by the Indian police/Passport Seva Kendra.
- UKVI Application Form & Visa Fee Payment Receipt
- Visa fee: £298
- Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS): £1,035 per year
- Proof of Selection in Ballot
- Applicants must be selected in the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot before applying.
